Los Angeles has been busy arresting artists

It has been a busy week for Los Angeles P.D, Since the opening of Art In The Streets over at MOCA (which we will have a review and pics up soon). Two artist have been arrested. Space Invader and Revok.

Apparently Revok was in LAX trying to board a plane on his way to Ireland and was arrested by Police on an outstanding warrant. The warrant had been issued for "failing to pay restitution to victims of previous vandalism crimes," said the paper. Revok is currently being held in the Los Angeles County Jail in lieu of $320,000 bail.

and then officials at LAPD issued a statement on Wednesday that officers arrested a French nationalist believed to be one of the two artists known as Space Invaders. The arrest came last Friday, around the debut of MOCA's Art In The Streets exhibition, when patrolmen detained 2 suspects, one to be a French national, with buckets filled with grout and tile pieces. While Space Invaders have yet to confirm the arrests. The artists’ website updated its portfolio section with “Map of Blue Invasion”, 18 Space Invaders artworks located in and around the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.

So all in all, Congratulations Los Angeles on a job well done... arresting artist. Art is Los Angeles, and Los Angeles is Art. It is in all of us and we will not stop.
